A single malt made up of different ages, 13 percent of which is said to be heavily peated... It turns out Stevie was wrong, Superstition is the way!
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Initial gristy cereal gives way to evocative smoke and heady malt. It’s quite sweet and creamy, and reminds us of Chantilly cream.
Sweet and porridge-like. A cereal fest on the tongue, with hints of white pepper and black forest honey with hot buttered toast. Light and oily.
Medium length with cocoa and rice paper with hints of honey and spice on the tail.

Not impressed. It seemed a poor second to many island whiskies - weak and not at all as advertised. I would go for Highland Park 12 any day over this one.
I have always preferred Highland malts and have found Islay malts way too peaty for my taste, but this marriage between the neighbouring islands is made in Heaven. There is more smoke than, perhaps a Mortlach, but is nicely controlled by the more traditional Jura. I will certainly be revisiting the malt.
A very acceptable whisky, also have sampled bottles of 12 year old ELIXER & 16 year old DIURACHS OWN. I received a bottle of Jura Superstition in a gift which upon tasting reveals a good whisky. I just wish that whisky distillers would identify the age by statement on the bottle. In some cases some high quality distilleries stopped putting the age on the bottle which in turn customers turned to other brands due to the perception of value for money. Once customers switch and find comparable products they may select something else when choosing their next bottle. Age matters.
Pleasant enough but better out there. Not the longest of finishes. Don't add water or its ruined.
not the best ever but very palatable had to have about 6 drams before I was sure about the smoke, tasting spice now may have to try again soon to be certain
