Journey is the entry level expression from the Isle of Jura range (which was relaunched in mid-2018). It was aged exclusively in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and bottled at 40% ABV. A tasty introduction to Jura's single malts.
Melted butter, sugared almond, a very light hint of smoke.
Honeyed-drenched pear, toffee and pencil shavings.
Oily walnut and light apricot sweetness.

Nose: There's a damp leather, spice is zombie like, knuckle dragging through the dirt. Palate: A gas spore with little to say for itself on the skin. Some wood spice. After: This ghost fades quickly.
Less than impressed. Tastes a bit like Jameson to me. Better off spending your money on Jura 10 year or Better still, Balvenie or Aberfeldy.
Lovely whiskey
This tasted like getting punched in the throat by the queens bodyguard. Honestly thought I was going to throw up with every sip I took. Absolutely bloody diabolical, devil juice
Don't know about pencil shavings because I've never tasted them but I do think there is a hint of pepper on the palate. A lovely malt!
