Journey is the entry level expression from the Isle of Jura range (which was relaunched in mid-2018). It was aged exclusively in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and bottled at 40% ABV. A tasty introduction to Jura's single malts.
Melted butter, sugared almond, a very light hint of smoke.
Honeyed-drenched pear, toffee and pencil shavings.
Oily walnut and light apricot sweetness.

I have been drinking whisky for about a year. I have tried many different whiskys from cheap Aldi's ones to 100 pound whiskys. This is the first ive come across that i just do not like. Im no Connoisseurs. But this Is just not nice. Not much going on with the flavour, the nose is very poor like paint stripper. Just not my cup tea. Not a whisky to start with if you are new to this.
Used to be a fan of Jura's previous range....diurachs own was an absolute delight. However their signature range no longer hits the mark.
Not a bad drink at all for the value. Very lightly smoked. Good option if you want to transition to more peaty whiskeys. Would ignore most of the bad feedback. Especially the guy who wrote the 92000 word review below :) the 'mault' guy, the 'chivers' regal guy
£22 well spent at the coop, some of the comments on here about headaches taste etc you should stick to drinking tea. Whiskey snobbery I'd just not clever.
I usually go for lighter Speyside, and a non peaty whisky. This is a good one for me as a change from the usual. Certainly will get again. Whisky drinking/ appreciation depends on the mood you're in.
