Journey is the entry level expression from the Isle of Jura range (which was relaunched in mid-2018). It was aged exclusively in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and bottled at 40% ABV. A tasty introduction to Jura's single malts.
Melted butter, sugared almond, a very light hint of smoke.
Honeyed-drenched pear, toffee and pencil shavings.
Oily walnut and light apricot sweetness.

When mixed with a touch of good spring water, this whisky comes alive. It starts with an oak taste, which is then taken over by honey, not unlike mead and finishes in this way. When drank neat, it is understandably a bit harsher on the tongue but still has an oak taste and less sweetness. A great dram with a good price
After having read quite a few negative, and pretentious, reviews about this whisky I wasn't expecting to be pleasantly surprised on sipping a first dram as it is in fact a solid, subtly delicious and satisfying scotch.
It tastes like tea...or malted milk biscuits dipped into tea. It's drinkable but it gets a bit cloying. Needs more oak.
I read the reviews after buying it for a gift. I'm not a whisky drinker but it was great for a gift for someone who's going on a journey. I won't let the reviews stop me from buying it again as I'm not giving it to whisky not whiskey snobs.
Lacking in flavour and borderline undrinkable until it’s a squash like consistency with water. Avoid
