This 10-year-old single malt was part of Jura's core range through the 2000s and 2010s, before it underwent a revamp in 2018. A nice find for a retro collection or a nostalgic tasting.

I received this as a gift from a good friend and true Scotsman. Jura may be his drink of choice, unfortunately it isn't mine. From a neat pour the nose has hints of malted chocolate, ground coffee, licorice, cinnamon and a sweetness reminiscent of the milk left from a sugary breakfast cereal. The palate is thick and sweet with fudge brownie and black forest cake, but the longer, fruitcakey finish ends in an anised aftertaste which eventually becomes an unwelcome guest. Deep, full-bodied flavors for just a 10 year malt. But this lacks some harmony in the overall experience. It's heavy and thick, with lots of malt and dark chocolate notes that really coat the palate. With these flavors, I typically like to see more coastal saltiness, noticeable peat, and some citrus notes paired with these darker themes. But you won't find them here...
I thought I'd try this instead of my go to Highland Park. I found it a bit insipid and reminiscent of a cheap bourbon.
Good nose on it, sweet and complex taste in the mouth. But the after taste is terrible, the throat burn is not for me.
This was gifted to me, have never seen this in my country South Africa. It is simply great, thank you John Butchard.
Very drinkable, tasty, full flavoured but not too challenging. A dash of water to take away the spirit burn worked for me. Im not sure where some reviewers get peatiness from, not even slightly peated to me.
