“The unexpected sea-salt and hint of caramel blew me when I first had this whiskey. I usually like peaty whiskeys, but I would never say no to this in my cupboard. I am sorry to see this is discountinued and hope it is only for the duration of the pandemic. ”

Single cask release of Indian single malt whisky from John Distilleries, made with unpeated barley and matured in bourbon barrels in Goa. Afterwards, it was bottled, with no chill-filtering or colouring, at cask strength - a sturdy 57% ABV.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Thick, juicy barley and vanilla-rich bourbon. A waft of sea-salt and brown sugar comes in from the coast.

Palate

Oily and mouth-coating with yet more gorgeous malt and molasses.

Finish

Chocolate and oak last on the finish.

Overall

Bold and brilliant, especially if like you your whisky packed with yummy barely notes.
