    Crabbie's Yardhead

A no-age-statement single malt from Crabbie's! John Crabbie’s original premises were at Yardheads in Leith, hence the name of the whisky. As the brand new distillery gets up and running, Crabbie's has released this single malt from an undisclosed distillery for us to enjoy! A brilliant spirit to try out some whisky cocktails with - may we suggest a Highball?

    Great cold cure

Great for a homemade Lemsip! 2 generous teaspoons of honey, a double measure of yardhead a good squeeze of half a lemon and top up the mug with boiling water. Perfect!

    Awful. Avoid.

This is on the level of Bells. Among the worst I’ve ever had. Borderline undrinkable neat and a cheaper whisky would work just as well with a mixer.

Master of Malt Customer Apr 25, 2022

A nice solid base for whisky and ginger ale.

This whisky is marketed as a mixer, so I don't understand the complaints that it tastes awful. Admittedly it's pretty bland neat, but then the makers themselves recognise this and it really does come into its own when mixed with ginger beer and a slice of lemon. As a base for a whisky Mac it's good enough and given the low price quite a bargain too. Straight though and it's the pits but then its marked up as to be mixed so can't complain.

Not brilliant, lacks any real taste.

Really poor. Tastes like a blend base. Very little flavour. Bought because it was cheap. Not good. Probably okayish to add to other things, as Crabbies did with their Ginger Wine. On its own, nah.

    Dreadful.

Possibly the worst malt whisky I've ever tasted. Taste more like a (bad) blended whisky.
