    Jim Beam Devil's Cut

This is the result of taking 90 proof Jim Beam Bourbon and extracting spirit absorbed into the wood of the barrels itself and blending them together. The result is a punchy oak-fest of a Bourbon, surely the drink of the devil himself?

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Immensely woody, fresh cut oak and a whole heap of vanilla and wood spice.

    Palate

The American oak vanilla remains powerful with a rich woodiness joining it.

    Finish

Yep still oaky, the finish is reasonably long with a pinch of spice scattered on top of that persistent vanilla flavour.

    Overall

Well this is definitely a woody drink, and it is an interesting experiment in what can be achieved through wood extraction.

The last 5 drams left in the bottle are devine!!

Way better than the regular Jim Beam. And I can sip Jim Beam neat. I can not sip neat any of the lower (under 30) spirits besids Jim Beam. Jameson, Ballantines, CC are all total garbage to my palate. This or Woodford Reserve are my go to bourbons. But the last 5 drams felt almost like out of this world. I enjoyed that stuff until the last drop. Sure, I ve got better stuff in my bar, but this is an absolute (at least) 2 pieces rebuy. With backup bottle. Also bottle I ve had, I liked the fact that it was destilled and BOTTLED in Kentucky.

    Good stuff.

Picked this up for £16 (Was cheaper than JB white & JD) and am impressed. It's got plenty of character, smooth, sweet etc, would recommend. PS, I think the last reviewer had drank a touch too much of it.....comparison with Laphroaig & Hennessy..!?

Not as good as Jack Single barrel, but...

Not as good as Jack Single barrel, but it is sits at the supermarket at almost half the price. Better then Jim Beam White (sweeter, woodier, peppier) and Jack Daniels Old n.7 (2013 batch). Jack vs Devils cut, you can taste the quality of regular Jack, but Jack fails like a cheap scottish blend in comprisment to Devilsc cut (I did several head to heads). And I do like Old n. 7, I can drink it straight with no problem, and its up there with Chivas 12 and JWB 12 in rotation with no problem. So in conclussion. If you ve never had a Devils cut, and you are not a girly dude who can only drink undrinkable sweet tasteless juices like Jameson, Balantines etc, buying one probably wont destroy your finances, and your taste buds. But if you aim at higher levels...Then there has to be said that this one is nowhere in the hights of Woodford Reserve, Jack SB, Hennessy Fine, Laphroaigh 10, Chivas 18....It performes solid against Dimple 15 (head to head), but Dimple 15 is still Dimple 15 :)
