    Jim Beam Devil's Cut

This is the result of taking 90 proof Jim Beam Bourbon and extracting spirit absorbed into the wood of the barrels itself and blending them together. The result is a punchy oak-fest of a Bourbon, surely the drink of the devil himself?

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Immensely woody, fresh cut oak and a whole heap of vanilla and wood spice.

    Palate

The American oak vanilla remains powerful with a rich woodiness joining it.

    Finish

Yep still oaky, the finish is reasonably long with a pinch of spice scattered on top of that persistent vanilla flavour.

    Overall

Well this is definitely a woody drink, and it is an interesting experiment in what can be achieved through wood extraction.

    Really smooth bourbon

Really enjoy this bourbon. Used to find it in the half gallon but now can only find in 750ml. Has it stopped being sold in the half gallon?

oaky, pepper, undertones of sweet vanilla, black tea. very very tasty

This expression from Jim beam is one of the recent experiments that works. They've taken a bourbon and aged it two years longer than the Jim beam white and cut it down with water used to extract more flavor from the barrel. The result is a heavier, more aged, higher proof version of Jim beam white. Very pleasing, it brings back some of the older style favors lost in today's quick to market bourbons.

    For the perfect Old Fashioned

An OK sipping bourbon but where it really comes alive is in an Old Fashioned. The heavy oak flavour works well with bitters and the extra strength offsets nicely with the additional sweetness in an old fashioned - this adds a lovely complexity to the classic cocktail without feeling like you are wasting a pricey bourbon on cocktails. For the price you can get it at (if you look around, it can be found for around half the price of a bottle of Woodford Reserve) its worth every penny.

You're drinking what they used to throw away.

Nasty ass swish. Left overs squeezed out of the aging barrel to make a quick buck, avoid at all costs.
