Jim Beam bourbon undergoes distillation at lower temperatures and is distilled to no more than 62.5%, the White label is aged for four years and has quite a high percentage of rye in the mashbill.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Quite sweet with gentle notes of vanilla and cut hay, a touch of fresh corn fields and a little cereal sweetness, like the bluegrass fields of Kentucky.

Palate

Good body with notes of toasty oak and all the requisite notes of vanilla and crème anglaise, a little spice and pepper with an acetone note.

Finish

Toasty oak and resin with a some sweetness.

You get what you paid for, and even more.

It isn't the best bourbon out there, but it is relatively cheap(In fact the cheapest bourbon in turkey and one of the cheapest whiskies overall) and makes a perfect mixer or can be served on the rocks. I will probably put this over Jack Daniels due to how charcoal filtering affects the taste and aroma negatively. It is light, flavorful and cheap.

Cheap for a reason.

This has two positive attributes: it's cheap & it won't make you blind. These five star reviews are patent nonsense. JBWL tastes of very little. The annoying thing is that the beginnings of a perfectly decent bourbon are here. They just need more time. But then you wouldn't be able to pick it up for a song if it was given 8 or 10 years. Jack Daniels is far more complex and is much less WATERY due to the heavily charred sugar maple barrels. Dewar's White Label is nicer still, with none of the "blue collar hero" toughness of JD. Pay the extra or buy good beer. At least its not a con, like JWRL and now criminally, JWBL.

Slightlt sweet young spirit

Still better than any entry level scotch i love this young spirit but not rough slightly sweet with that fuzzy finish, lovely!.

Decently refreshing when paired with a with powerfully carbonated soda and a slice of your favourite citrus.

The fact that this drink divides opinions is perhaps proof that it's not "rubbing alcohol" as some people baselessly claim... For one, if you did, actually, drink rubbing alcohol in sufficient quantities to authoritatively taste, you'd be in no position to compare it to anything. Love it or hate it, Jim Beam is popular in Tokyo, especially during the hot summers we have here. It's a decent enough budget Bourbon when drunk as a highball with carbonated water or a club soda which goes well with red meats and salted jerky, for example. Or for a light, refreshing beverage with freshly squeezed lemon or citrus of choice. Wouldn't particularly recommend as a sipping bourbon, unless you're just looking for a jolt of alcohol, TBH. LOL...
