Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Quite sweet with gentle notes of vanilla and cut hay, a touch of fresh corn fields and a little cereal sweetness, like the bluegrass fields of Kentucky.

Palate

Good body with notes of toasty oak and all the requisite notes of vanilla and crème anglaise, a little spice and pepper with an acetone note.

Finish

Toasty oak and resin with a some sweetness.

Warm on a cool night, without the campfire. All around good bourbon for the price.

Reviews for Jim Beam White Label

For me it's heavy on the corn with a nice rye bite. Nothing too complicated. A bit of a sour mash nose and a nice barrel flavor on the finish. This is my first bottle of JB that I've mostly drank neat and I have to say it's a pleasure. Smooth with just enough rough edges to keep it interesting. I'll buy more in the future. It helps keep me out of my 18 year old scotch collection.

How is THIS the best selling bourbon????

Sweet. Unappealingly sweet. With a molasses aftertaste. As a Kentuckian, I cannot for the life of me understand how this swill is the best selling bourbon in the world. Pure garbage. There are better options at even lower prices than this horrid swill.

    Best Budget Bourbon!

I have tried almost every bourbon and Jim Beam white label is an excellent budget bourbon. Many people shit on Jim Beam. I've tried Markers Mark, Four Rose's, Woodford, Knob Creek, Wild Turkey, Wild Turkey 101, you almost of them. Jim Beam is the only one I enjoy neat. If comparing to Basil Hayden, then Hayden wins but the price point is much different. Blantons is inconsistent. Wild Turkey regular bottle is decent, Knob Creek is good too but the others Jim Beam has a nice smoothness with a bit of kick. Just cuz it's not as popular, especially for whisky/bourbon snobs, doesn't mean Jim Beam is bad. I highly encourage you to set a blind tasting with different bourbon's and see what you really like. Jim Beam for me is perfect. It's not complex but that's ok by me.
