The J.G. Thompson team has created a range of blended malts with rather descriptive names, so you know what you're in for with each expression. This particular edition is the Smoky expression, which is made with 100% Islay whiskies drawn from ex-bourbon barrels and Pedro Ximénez casks. Like the name suggests, there's plenty of smoky notes to tuck into here, though not so much as to make this an unapproachable dram. It's deliciously enjoyable, with sweetness, richness, spice, and smoke in a fine balance.

Yes, this is lovely. Found via a MoM blog I think. Lumped in as I liked the description. Definitely getting the sherry on the nose, sweetness on the palette, finishing long and smokey. Currently exploring blends and this is a great one.
