Jack Daniel's
You all know Jack Daniel’s and have no doubt seen its classic whiskey in bars and shops all over the world. But the Tennessee-based distillery is also home to lots of premium expressions, like the single barrel bottling you see before you. A premium version of Jack Daniel's, each of these comes from a cask specially selected by the master distiller. These are chosen for their suitability as standalone spirits, resulting in a whiskey full of richness and complexity.
*UK (excluding Channel Islands) and retail only. Offer from 30 05 2025, while stock lasts.
Good body with plenty of toasty oak, there are notes of corn and lovely cereal sweetness, there is a good smoke note, a little spice and toffee.
Full and mouth-filling. There are notes of cereal sweetness, the rye is in evidence with a touch of cigar box and nut oils, a little spice and an aniseed character.
Good length with a hint of citrus and plenty of cereal sweetness.
I agree with the previous reviewer...being a west coast hop head this whiskey appeals to me. Bitter or spicy, if you prefer, smooth. Very enjoyable. It is a Christmas gift from D.I.L. to my son. I was given the privilege of opening the bottle and trying it because son has to work tonight. I like it but it is unique.
Jack Daniels Single Barrel Whiskey may be a good choice for some who like a very strong (47%) and very bitter whiskey. I believe the bitterness is due to the increased strength. I am a huge whiskey fan and my staple go-to choice is Glenlivit. Having said that, their was a special on the JD Single Barrel gift set and I thought I would give it a try. It is not bad, and is pretty smooth, but it a is a bitter strong/bitter for my taste. I much prefer Glenlivit on the rocks over JD single barrel. As another reviewer said, "it is just another mixer to me", and I would have to agree; so why not just buy the regular JD for half the price? If I am paying over $45 for a 750ml bottle of liquor I expect it to be good by itself or on the rocks. I wont be buying this again.
I didn't buy it to compare, I bought it to enjoy. Its very nice
like my father paddy long gone I love a good glass of whiskey .Single Barrel is a fine whiskey but no comparison toBlack Bushmills
You just have to have it. I have now currently 13 bottles in rotation (I am not an alcoholic, btw, but rotation always consists of around 10 bottles, which I finish in a year), and this Jack is up there close to the top right now...My current rotation: glenfiddich 12, glenfiddich 18, chivas 12, chivas 18, jwb 12, jack, agwa, glenlivet 12, hennessy vs, hennessy fine, courvoisier vsop, dimple 15....When you wash your mouth with Single barrel....Mmmm...You just feel that all the viruses are burned alive, heavy burn inside, and when you swallow, you just feel all of them are also gone to oblivion...Even on the nose, it burnes them almost all, it cleares your nose, Hennessy fine is slighlty better on burning on the nose, but I prefer the nose on Single barrel, so fine and beautiful....This single barrel is also so better then the regular Jack....And also the bottle is the best outhere...As the taste is consirned, this is way better then the white rabbit and regular, havent had the silver select yet, though... As for the consumption of this spirit...? I would not offer this to a lady, I would drink alone, this on in the winter times and in small quantities....Actually I just emptied a bottle in a less then a month, which is weird for me, that good it was to me, It went down so easily over Hennessy, or chivas....You can not go wrong with this one, but be careful....It is STRONG in every sence of the word....But I like it. It is surely 10/10 in my book....Just for the comperisment...The best drink or liquid of any form, that I have ever tried until now, is chivas 18, liquid gold.
