    Jack Daniel's No. 27 Gold

Created by taking Jack Daniel's standard Tennessee whiskey (also known as No. 7) and then "double barreling and double mellowing" it - meaning it enjoys an extra maturation period in maple wood before being double charcoal filtered.

    Got it for my dad

Was really happy with the presentation. No clue how it tastes. Shopping and delivery experience was great, too.

Compelling but underwhelming for the price

Paid $140 for the heavy cork, decorative bottle, and pompous box. It’s only 80 proof, so it’s easy to drink, but the flavor suffers as a result: there are no perceivable maple notes, the character is thin and the experience is short-lived. However, the subtle toasty Jack trademark flavor holds fast and compels you to investigate further. Not bad, just too subdued.

A wonderful smooth edition of Jack Daniels

It's a wonderful smooth taste, really enjoyed it.I think I will still stick to the original JD though, but if it's a special event in my life like a birthday or Christmas I will occasionally treat myself to a bottle of Gold.

Nice but not worth the price

I absolutely love Jack Daniel’s in most of its form. No 27 is still my go too bottle, I was recently gifted a bottle of Jack Daniel’s No 27 Gold by a very dear friend who was aware of my passion for JD. With great expectations I open the great box and took out the bottle, initial thoughts yes very golden in colour. Now to the sampling, in an open whisky glass I poured a shot, first impression smooth on the nose and most definitely from the house of JD. Now to the pallet, very smooth and mellow with under lying oak, very pleasant on the palette. Ok to summarise very pleasant and enjoyable but it doesn’t command it’s price point, expensive for what it is. Nice but not worth the money, when you compare spending £80 plus when you could get a very fine Japanese or Scottish single malt for the same, which would have more structure.
