Gentleman Jack is a premium version of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey. The main difference is that it enjoys a 'double mellowing' as it's filtered through charcoal before being filled into the barrel (the Lincoln County Process) and once again before it's bottled.
Gentleman Jack is undoubtedly good enough to enjoy on its own. In his book Whisky: The Manual, Dave Broom also suggests that Gentleman Jack actually works better than the regular Jack Daniel's Old No.7 in a Jack and Coke.

Me and my friend had it only with ice .. nice aroma and feel good to sip and have
Good with Coke and Ice. Will say it has a strong taste , don’t notice any mellowing as it states it does. However after two to three drinks later. Regardless of the cost, they all taste the same ?
I don't drink much, maybe once every 3months 1-3shots w/ regular JD, I will be content. Gentleman Jack is Not Harsh but too weak for me.
A really nice whiskey. I don't like standard JD and was surprised by this - it's been added to the rotation! Bizarre how many people on here have tried paint stripper...
