Jack Daniel's
Jack Daniel's Gentleman Jack is a smooth and sophisticated whiskey, perfect for enjoying neat or on the rocks. It has a distinctively rich flavour with notes of vanilla and spice.
Gentleman Jack is a premium version of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey. The main difference is that it enjoys a 'double mellowing' as it's filtered through charcoal before being filled into the barrel (the Lincoln County Process) and once again before it's bottled.
Gentleman Jack is undoubtedly good enough to enjoy on its own. In his book Whisky: The Manual, Dave Broom also suggests that Gentleman Jack actually works better than the regular Jack Daniel's Old No.7 in a Jack and Coke.
In addition to its smooth flavour profile, Gentleman Jack is also known for its distinctive and elegant packaging. The brand's signature bottle is designed to look like a flask and is decorated with elegant, hand-written labelling that pays homage to the brand's heritage and tradition.
*UK (excluding Channel Islands) and retail only. Offer from 22 09 2025, while stock lasts.
Spicy nose with caramel, charred oak and a little aniseed.
Liquorice-led palate with oak and cinnamon, a touch of banana too.
Roasty and toasty finish, plenty of spice and citrus too.
Has become my go to whiskey since discovering it this year. Absolutely love it with an ice cube and some air. Simple, smooth, balanced, delightful.
Call me "low class", but I'll drink No.7 until the end of days, and single barrel? That's really something special. But Gentlemen Jack? Just don't like it, everything that makes the others drinkable is gone. Feels like I'm drinking pot pourri. I don't like it.
It's certainly much smoother than I expected and relatively simple, enjoyable and balanced. I enjoy it neat or with an ice cube.
This is a deceiving whiskey. What seems a bit simplistic at first becomes something entirely different with some air and maybe a spot of water. Truly balanced, a bit restrained, but wonderful fruit, caramel and wood if you are patient. At $29 good luck finding this experience anywhere else.
I’ve tried many whiskeys/whiskys and I always come back to gentleman jack as a fail safevif im uncertain what to try next. I’m honestly surprised by some of they negative reviews, perhaps their pallet is more mature than mine, but then some people rate talisker and I’d rather drink tcp than that. Perhaps GJ is missing the peat that some drinkers crave??
