A lovely blended whisky from Japan, created by Ichiro Akuto, the Japanese whisky extraordinaire. This particular gem is made with both malt and grain whisky from Japan as well as (possibly) some whisky from other countries too - the label describes it as "a worldwide blended whisky".
Peach and dried apricot, sweet butterscotch, vanilla cream, citrus zest, synthetic bananas and gooey malt.
Toffee first and foremost, with notes of barley malt, gingerbread, tropical fruits, honeyed pipe tobacco lveas, black pepper, roasted chestnut and freshly cut hay.
Medium length with vanilla and dried tropical fruit.
Well, this one caught me off guard. It is very, very smooth considering the strength. It feels airy and chilled. Flavours are well balanced. To me, there's dry wood and honey.
So smooth!! The best Japanese whiskey...!
Very nice. Young whiskey but Lots of flavour and smooth. Since the supply of regular Japanese top shelf whiskey has dried up, Ichiro’s get the spot light.
This whiskey was very different to what I expected. It had plenty of flavour ( honey watered down honey and a fruity flavour ) it was really unusual as it had a really light flavour like almost having a fizzy drink in your mouth at the Finish( lemonade). If you're after a different flavour I would definitely try this. Have never had a whisky like this one.
My favorite Japanese whisky!!
