Orkney 15 Year Old 2003 (cask 15620) - The Old Malt Cask (Hunter Laing)
This single malt Scotch from an undisclosed Orkney-based distillery was bottled by Hunter Laing as part of their Old Malt Cask series. It was aged for 15 years in a refill hogshead, bottled without chill-filteration and bottled at 50% ABV. 343 bottles were produced.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Sweet and smoky, notes of honey and a pinch of pepper.
Palate
Smoky peat over notes of malt, with crisp and sweet toffee apples.
Finish
Sweet notes of honey and leather intertwined over a lengthy finish.
