Single Malt
Svein comes from Highland Park's Warrior series, which was released for the travel retail market. It's named after a legendary Viking leader known for his fiery temper but also for his boundless hospitality. The whisky is matured predominately in ex-American oak casks, which has resulted in plenty of orange oil, vanilla, caramel and peppery oak, along with plenty of smoke.

I'm not the greatest at tasting whisky but I get a big hit of smokey vanilla from this. Got it for £40 and it's a full litre bottle too so good value for money.!
Those below who say the Svein is “bland” need to stop eating processed foods so they can enjoy the more complex flavors of single malts. On the nose was toffee, raisins, a slight hint of cereal, and hay. On the palate was American oak, mint, bitter chocolate and vanilla. Smoke comes out on the long finish. After a few drops of water, the smoke and vanilla become more prominent. Tongue remains smoky minutes later.
A delightful discovery. The HP named after me (!), Svein, is one of the smoothest and most enjoyable malts I have tasted. Heed the Malt Master’s advice: “Sip don’t gulp” .
Малко повече торф от Glenlivet 12yo. Повече вкусове...
Extremely bland, not good at all. Harold is the first in the Warrior series that I can like.
