Harmony - a rather apt word to describe this well-balanced Japanese blended whisky from the Hibiki range. Hibiki Japanese Harmony is made with malt whiskies from the Yamazaki and Hakushu distilleries, as well as grain whisky from the Chita distillery. The whiskies are drawn from five different types of cask, including American white oak casks, sherry casks and Mizunara oak casks. An elegant expression, with wafts of honey, orange, a herbaceous touch or two, and light oak.
Red berries, green apple and layers of rich honey.
Melted butter and caramelised dates. A hint of fragrant sandalwood develops into warming, oaky spice.
Brown sugar, citrus peels, white grape, and black pepper.
I loved the taste of this whiskey a lot, it's strong but also very soothing
I'm not normally a whisky drinker but I drank this one neat to get the true flavour, it was pleasant and I found it sweet and smooth, a nice warming feeling as it went down, and a nice aroma, it was a pleasant surprising whisky.
It is definitely the palest whisky I have seen and you feel the burn but it tastes lovely so I understand why people enjoy it. Would definitely recommend having it with ice vs room temperature.
Hibiki Harmony , it was my first contact with Japanese whisky. I thought it will be very different than Scottish whisky and maybe not good enough but it was a big surprise for me, something new but still whisky and really nice one.
Having just tried this was extremely pleased with the taste and flavour profile of this product, ideal to drink on its own or on ice
