Harmony - a rather apt word to describe this well-balanced Japanese blended whisky from the Hibiki range. Hibiki Japanese Harmony is made with malt whiskies from the Yamazaki and Hakushu distilleries, as well as grain whisky from the Chita distillery. The whiskies are drawn from five different types of cask, including American white oak casks, sherry casks and Mizunara oak casks. An elegant expression, with wafts of honey, orange, a herbaceous touch or two, and light oak.
Red berries, green apple and layers of rich honey.
Melted butter and caramelised dates. A hint of fragrant sandalwood develops into warming, oaky spice.
Brown sugar, citrus peels, white grape, and black pepper.
First Japanese whisky. Not as smooth as I expected. Drunk as it should be, neat, to get the full flavour. For the price I expected it to be much smoother to swallow. Found this quite harsh. Enjoyed it but not my favourite. Think ill stick to Scotch.
I drank this neat with ice, it's a lovely light whiskey with a sweet aroma. A warming and smooth taste with a mildly spicy undertone.
The first thing that strikes you, when pouring this Hibiki Japanese Harmony Whisky is it's pale golden colour, we drank it over ice, for the first taste, but with a preference of a mixer. It has an aroma of fruit, reminiscent of rum. It was ok, we aren't regular whisky drinkers, yet still we have found others smoother and not as harsh as this.
Surprisingly deep flavour and wonderful after taste. Not the biggest fan of Japanese whisky, but this changed my mind. Rich depth of presence with lovely mellow after taste of apple / peach / tangerine. Well priced. Still prefer Scottish would buy again on a promotion.
A beautiful rich whisky with a slight spice, goes down very smooth no after burn, a sharp and sweet nose to it mainly smells of peaches
