Hibiki 21 has been named the World's Best Blended Whisky countless times at the World Whiskies Awards among many accolades, and for good reason! During that time, demand for Japanese whisky such as this has gone through the roof as a global audience has become aware of the quality that's long been produced there. Dr. Whisky says it's "Unbelievably balanced, and dangerously drinkable". So basically, it's pretty good stuff!
*UK (excluding Channel Islands) and retail only. Offer from 01 08 2025, while stock lasts.
Sweet, caramalised nuts, some lemon acidity, blackcurrants and pears with vanilla, dark toffee and rich sherry spice.
Oak, dark cherry and sweet caramel notes, buttery with a wisp of smoke and some wood spice.
Long, with a hint of smoke.
A fantastic Japanese whisky.
I tried it at Yamazaki distillery, its a masterpiece!
An absolute joy. It's a pity that it is so rare nowadays.
Rarely found now, even in Japan, this whisky redefines all preconceptions of how a blended whisky compares with the finest Single Malts. Have enjoyed Scotch across the spectrum for over 40 years, from common to legendary, and I tell you fellow single malt and blended lovers, this is it! It's a shocking 49 pounds UK for a double in the higher end bars in Tokyo, but worth it if you have never tried it, trust me. I secured a 700 ml for 125 pounds UK at the renown Hasegawa, whilst here on vacation and consider myself extremely lucky to add this to my collection. If you have the opportunity to have a dram or two, don't hesitate to try it; it will 'Rock your world!'
I'm a single malt man, have been my whole life...though I have enjoyed a few quality blended Scotches like Top End Chivas/Dimple in my time, I never thought I would try anything around this price that matches the quality and taste of my Favorite Single Malts - Glenfiddich 21 Gran Reserva and Glenfarclas 25. But this was something special, its nearly too smooth with the most delightful finish on the palate, Buttery with subtle oakey smoke hints, it has this perfectly sweet initial toffee/caramel flavor when it first touches your lips and the lasting taste that is everything i want in a fine Scotch. My favorite drink is now Hibiki 21 Year Old blended scotch, after 15 years of enjoying single malts, this one drink changed my opinion forever. It's that good.
