Heaven Hill. If bourbon is your thing, that's a name you should be very familiar with. If you're unfamiliar, we recommend you become acquainted with the legendary Kentucky-based producer and its wares - which includes this good value-for-money expression. tasty sipped neat, and will be great for any whiskey-based cocktails you could throw at it. Or throw it at. Maybe don't do any throwing. Throwing generally isn't great for cocktail making unless you're one of those bartenders that does somersaults.

Really rather drinkable! In the best possible way, it's the archetypal bourbon: all the classic sweet, woody stuff you'd expect, softening out into creamy vanilla when allowed to sit and breathe for a while. Not super sophisticated, not super spicy and rye-heavy...just welcoming, easy-drinking, classic bourbon. There's a large and ever changing cast of bourbons in the cabinet (from big rich monsters like Elijah Craig to thinner, lighter affairs like Basil Hayden) but Heaven Hill maintains a constant presence: if I'm just in the mood for "a bourbon", this is it.

A whiskey for the common man with good taste.
I think this bourbon is quite underrated. I don't fancy myself as a connoisseur of anything, in fact I had to copy and paste that word, but I do love my whiskey. I've had all types of whiskeys, scotch, rye, bourbon, etc. but this is my main store of whiskey. I keep about two bottles, which are 1L instead of 750mL, in my bar. And will buy one every friday. Drinking it neat, isnt like a Johnnie Walker Blue, but it doesnt have that harsh charcoal taste that other cheaper whiskeys like Old Crow, or Banker's Club have. It has a good wood taste, with a sort of... i cannot describe it, maybe fruit taste. It is sweet, yet not overbearing. It mixes, EXTREMELY well. My favorite is the Irish Mule, in my opinion it tastes better with my Kentucky Bourbon than any Irish whiskey I can find. A smooth, potent, reliable whiskey. That anyone with less than $100k in the bank account can enjoy fully. I would highly reccommend.

Solid performer that punches slightly above it's weight
For it's price and it's proof, and for the overall experience, I'd value this whisky highly. It's not by any means special, but it has a pleasant , true Bourbon character and is smooth on the palate. If you have the budget for better whiskies you should buy them, but for a well it's perfectly suitable.
