Heaven Hill. If bourbon is your thing, that's a name you should be very familiar with. If you're unfamiliar, we recommend you become acquainted with the legendary Kentucky-based producer and its wares - which includes this good value-for-money expression. tasty sipped neat, and will be great for any whiskey-based cocktails you could throw at it. Or throw it at. Maybe don't do any throwing. Throwing generally isn't great for cocktail making unless you're one of those bartenders that does somersaults.
Rye-rich, quite spicy and sweet.
Spices, oak, cedar, a little rum-like character develops.
Fruity, dark brown sugar.
I'm a retired state liquor store worker here in Pa. and have been around the shelf a bit. In the end I always come back to this one as my regular nightcap and truth be told.... Except for a little wine or a beer need nothing else. This includes all these super expensive boutique bourbons and scotches....Great Irish stuff and so on.This is an honest and most modestly priced sipping whiskey with no false taste or phony plastic finish...its just plain good everytime.... A young whiskey for sure but that suits me fine. I can't praise it enough. Let them spend 50 plus bucks for all that single barrel over proof stuff and all the exquisite headaches the next day...I'll take a handle of Heaven Hill every time!
I love this stuff as my dad showed me what good bourbon was with heaven hill.
This tastes like what bourbon should taste like. And for the price you can't drink anything besides Benchmark 8 that comes even close. Drop a cube of ice in it and enjoy.
here in the u.s., I can get this often on sale for under $10....I love me some expensive barrel proof juice but when the funds are low and or you want something for the flask before you head out on a long mountain bike trek, reach for this....has an interesting nutty/pecan note.....more like a 6 year bourbon
First off the price above is WAY OFF from what I paid. WHAT A BOURBON FOR THE PRICE CANT BE BEAT.
