Hankey Bannister
A blended whisky named for Mr Hankey and Mr Bannister who created the brand. That's right, he was called Mr Hankey…
The nose is quite light, yet rather punchy. There are notes of winter spice and black pepper with a touch of caramel. The palate is quite fresh and crisp with medium-body. There are notes of buttery biscuit and toffee fudge with cereal sweetness and a creamy mouthfeel. The finish is of good length with a fudge sweetness.

Before I tried this one I only drank whiskey rarely and only single malts, but Hankey Bannister made me ralize that I can really enjoy cheaper blends as well. Nice balance between sweetness and harshness, not too alcoholic on the nose, pleasant aftertaste, imo, better then many famous and widespread brands.
I was looking for Buchannans red seal din't find it came across thi one and let me tell you the best forget buchannas this is my new drink of choice...
my mum bought a bottle of Hankey-Bannister whisky almost 30 years ago as it carried our name it is still unopened as a memory tou our dear departed mother will it still be all right
