When we first heard about the initial Haig Club being released with David Beckham we had a discussion at MoM Towers about what the price point would be. When it was eventually announced, however, it was quite a bit higher than the whiskies we'd previously assumed they'd be competing with. That's where Haig Club Clubman comes in, which will be the more "mainstream" variant.
The Clubman, a single grain Scotch whisky distilled at Cameronbridge and matured in ex-bourbon casks, is designed to be enjoyed with cola.
Inoffensive vanilla, nougat and caramel notes. With Beckham behind it, we can see plenty of vodka coke drinkers making the switch to Clubman and not looking back.
Boffing, nothing there except a slight vanilla chemical taste. Zero depth even with a mixer. Complete miss.
It's a very good whisky to have in cupboard for when you are mixing long drinks as it has that nice "Bourbon" tang without the undertones of trailer park. If you are buying it to drink neat like a single malt then you deserve the disappointment you will encounter.
Barely there, okay if you want to mix with coke. Sweet, vanilla, a drop of orange oil.
Sorry but this isn’t whisky at all... Tastes like dark vodka after a glass or two. No depth or any interesting notes apart from bare minimum coconut with a hint of regret
As a newbie to whiskey I find this Nice to sup neat, not tried it yet with a mixer. I can imagine for a hardened whiskey drinker this would be too tame and not enough flavour, but it doesn’t have the burn like others and has a nice sweet after taste
