9 year old single malt from Glentauchers in the Speyside region, independently bottled by Duncan Taylor. This was distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2017 following 4 months in a tiny octave cask. A very small number of bottles were produced - only 53 of them! We do love a good Glentauchers, and they tend to show off rather well even when quite youthful...
Honey, cinnamon rolls and a very light touch of oak-y smoke.
Vanilla pod and burnt sugar arrive first, with cashew and peach notes following on.
Drying spices stick around for a good long while afterwards.
