Glenmorangie's Quinta Ruban 12 Year Old is a fantastic Port cask finished expression, and now the distillery has developed upon the recipe with The Quinta Ruban 14 Year Old! The whisky is initially matured in bourbon casks before being moved over to ruby Port casks, imparting waves of scrumptious fruit and chocolate notes to the spirit. Superb as a postprandial dram.
Summer fruit tart with a sprinkling of icing sugar, aromatic cedar, milky coffee and almond pastries.
Chocolate mousse, Bourbon biscuits, orange oil, more almond notes (now toasted), blackcurrant and raisin.
Lasting richness of stewed berries and dark chocolate.

Light port on the nose. Nothing interesting going on on the palate though. It's bland. Definitely not bad; if I'd paid about 35 pounds, I'd probably be singing its praises, but not at this price point.
Hesitatet to buy this bacause so many rewiews saying it's bad. Luckily I decided to go with it and oh my God... This is incredible whisky!! The nose is chocolate and almond and even when 46% it's smooth, milk chocolate covering your mouth. Long finish continues to evolve something sweet and berry kinda taste. Don't believe bad reviews this is great whisky from glenmorangie. 5 stars
I like this. I didn't try the 12-year, but compared to standard Glenmorangie 10 this one is smoother. I do find I need to add quite a bit more water to it than I do to the ten, and it took me a couple of drams to dial this in... but now that I have, I really like this whisky.
Great dram, great price / quality ratio. I really enjoyed this and recommend for bourbon drinkers who want to get into scotch. Nice balance of dark stewed fruits, malt, cask influence, spices, and chocolate. Great color too.
All that "old times were better" crap is nowhere close to reality in this case. The 12YO was great, but it's gone, deal with it. This 14YO is also more than good, just a different animal... Very drinkable, sweet but not overwhelmingly cloying.
