For a good while now, Glenmorangie has been home to some rather exciting experiments when it comes to cask ageing - and this is a perfect example from the first half of the '00s. Glenmorangie's 1991 Missouri Oak Reserve was matured entirely in virgin oak casks made with air-dried from trees in Missouri's Ozark Mountains. Wood of the same origin would become the basis of Glenmorangie Astar (and it's more recent re-release).
