This series from Glenmorangie showcases the creative explorations of its director of whisky creation (and probable wizard), Dr Bill Lumsden! A Tale of the Forest is a single malt distilled with barley kilned with botanicals including juniper berries, birch bark, and heather flowers. A Tale of Tokyo marries sherry and bourbon cask matured whiskies with single malt aged in rare Japanese mizunara casks, while A Tale of Ice Cream is aged in specially selected casks that were toasted in a particular way to achieve higher concentrations of vanillin (the aromatic compound which brings vanilla notes to whisky) and A tale of Spices is matured in a combo of Moroccan red wine, new charred oak, Pedro Ximénez, and STR (shaved, toasted, and recharred) red wine casks for a medley of aromatic sweetness and spice.
