This is the first chance to try whisky produced by the recently re-opened Glenglassaugh Distillery.
It was closed in 1986 but resumed production in 2008. This revival bottling is the first whisky to be made at the distillery since it reopened. Matured in a mixture of first and refill bourbon casks, this was finished for 6 months in first-fill oloroso sherry butts.
Sweet caramel and toffee with notes of nutty Sherry, milk chocolate and honey. Ripe plums, red berries and oranges. Caramelised sugar and earthy, charred oak.
Sweet, rounded and creamy. Oranges, plums, cherry and walnuts, chocolate, honey-mead, Sherry and soft, spiced oak.
Medium with warming mulled-wine spices, Sherry and caramel.

Perfectly describe in the notes very very nice ?
Exactly as described and very enjoyable. Great value for something so smooth and pleasant.
Oh my God.... This is superb whisky. Consider its NSA it is very pleasing to drink. Nose is filled with floral, sweet toffee and honey. Finish isn't the longest but still okey. Loving it!!!
on opening this you get a mass of toffee. this remains, along with a little sherry and nuttiness too. manuka honey, sherried spice and caramel in mouth, plus orange peel. a medium finish is very smooth. quite a lovely and different whisky from one of the most interesting distilleries to open of late. ive a few of their offerings. struth
What a let down. Harsh, young spirit tarted up by wine casks and a sherry finish. Aggressively “matured” whisky that basically doesn’t really want to be your friend. 4/10.
