Glenfiddich
Scotland
Single Malt
Part of Glenfiddich's Experimental Series comes a single malt which was finished for three months in casks which previously held IPA! Created collaboratively by Glenfiddich Malt Master Brian Kinsman and IPA expert Seb Jones, the IPA which was in the casks before the whisky was specially brewed for this expression by the Speyside Craft Brewery. Bound to be a fascinating whisky for whisky and beer enthusiasts alike (and the cross-over of that Venn diagram, too).
Honey'd malt, jam tart (the kind with marmalade, specifically), pear drops.
Treacle and sponge cake. Spicy hop notes begin to take shape, followed by hints of bitter citrus peel.
Light oak, melted butter and coffee bean.
May I correct all the amateur tasters that’s left a review. This is not the normal expression that you can just nose and taste. Try a good decent IPA from you local produced beer hall. Let the IPA dissipate after drinking the have a glass of the IPA, hold long in the mouth and let it go down and the flavours of the scented light hops and classic Glenfiddich Finish comes through. Unique flavour added to the renowned fiddith floral notes makes this different and special
I like Glenfiddich. But the IPA... when I tried it I instantly though of the movie Elf where he tasted the fruit spray. https://youtu.be/WcqnfDBnzl4.
Really pleased with this..smooth whiskey subtle flavours to be savored.
Was really looking forward to trying this one, and dam, what a shock. Not good at all. It has no flavour at all, maybe a little zesty but that's it. It's smooth but really has nothing about it. A massive shame for me.
One of the sweetest whiskies that I hold in high regard, I don't always get the hoppy notes but there is a definite apple and citrus freshness. I admit that I might be biased, I gave this as a gift when it came out and my friend and I have been slowly finishing off the bottle ever since but I will never turn down a glass of this lovely little whisky.
