Glenfarclas 1994 The Chancellor's Cask

An old sherried Glenfarclas, how lovely! This particular single malt, dubbed The Chancellor's Cask, has quite the backstory. It was distilled on 13 May 1994 and was actually filled into a single sherry hogshead by the Chancellor of the Exchequer at the time, Kenneth Clarke. Clarke vowed to only return to open the cask when the local constituency voted in a Conservative MP.

So, there it stayed for over 25 years, before it was cracked open by Clarke and bottled at cask strength on 13 June 2019, with an outturn of 275 bottles. All profits from the bottle are donated to Clarke's chosen charity, The Salvation Army.

This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
