A 1978 vintage Glenfarclas single malt, presented as part of the Winter 2015 release of their Family Cask series. This was matured in a 4th fill hogshead from 1978 until August 2015, when it was bottled at 48.8% ABV. Just 214 bottles were produced.
Shortbread and wafts of spring petals.
Runny toffee, slightly buttery. Orange oil and a bit of plain chocolate.
Long and elegant.
Perhaps an aperitif whisky?
