The 8th release of Glenfarclas' sterling 1962 Family Cask, this time aged in a single sherry hogshead (number 2648). Expect rich, sweet sherry notes, and just a hint of something "herbal".
Hints of cigar leaves, cassis and a little biltong greet the nostrils. The nose develops with notes of toasted almond, pepper and maple spice.
A malty, rich whisky with notes of treacle, barrel char and fresh Oloroso. The palate pertains to sweetness with notes of nutmeg, cinnamon and golden syrup, a little dried grape and walnut too.
Spiced and sweet, notes of lemon zest and orange peel, a little peppermint on the tail.
