This expression from GlenDronach, dubbed Forgue, was the first ever expression the distillery released for the Travel Retail market! It's a 10 year old single malt which has been aged in a combination of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks, and it packs a hefty flavour profile of dried fruit, nutty malt, and rich toffee. The name, Forgue, comes from the area where the distillery was founded many moons ago.
Dates and sultanas drizzled in honey, old oak, a hint of citrus peels.
More honey, now with maple syrup. Malt loaf, cinnamon, milk chocolate buttons.
Hot cross buns with butter, macadamia nut and walnut loaf.
Brought this as a birthday gift. Almost all gone now. Great, lovely tasting whisky. Definitely one to add to the list to buy again.
There’s no mistaking this gem - it’s a typical Glendronach. Smooth, honeyed and very, very moreish. One bottle is not going to be enough!
