GlenAllachie Sinteis Series Part Three - 2014 French Virgin Oak and Oloroso Cask Matured

The Sinteis Series is all about contrast and collision, and this third release shows Billy Walker leaning hard into both. It's a 2014 vintage GlenAllachie drawn from French Limousin virgin oak and classic oloroso sherry casks, bottled at a muscular 57.4% ABV, natural colour and non-chill filtered. The virgin oak brings structure, spice and grip, while the sherry casks add depth, richness and a reassuring sense of familiarity.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Bright orange zest and nutmeg lead, followed by dried orchard fruits, honeycomb and maraschino cherries. Mocha, crystallised brown sugar and a gentle earthy warmth build with time.

    Palate

Heather honey, spiced orange and baked apple arrive first, then muscovado sugar, winter truffle, and cinnamon.

    Finish

Lingering hazelnuts, dark chocolate and sherried sweetness are held in check by drying French oak tannins.
