Single Malt
GlenAllachie
Originally added to the GlenAllachie core range in 2019, this 15-year-old single malt underwent a redesign in 2024. The whisky was treated to a finishing period in sherry casks before bottling. The casks in question were a combination of puncheons and hogsheads that previously held Pedro Ximénez and oloroso sherry. Master distiller Billy Walker described this expression as having an "exceptional balance of the distillery’s spirit and the influence of the sherry casks used during maturation." We'd have to agree.
Peanut brittle, dates and a big scoop of chocolate ice cream.
Walnut, raisin, Christmas spices and fresh ginger.
Coffee, Turkish delight and just a hint of flaky sea salt.
Hey MoM, why do you always put these on special offer the week after I’ve ordered a bottle. It’s just not on, now I’m going to have to order another bottle!!
I bought this for my husbands birthday and it was delicious. Hadn't heard of glenallachie before so thought we'd give it a try. Would definitely buy this again
I'm usually a Highland, Island or Islay drinker, looking for big bold flavours, and so often I find Speysides leave me cold. This one though has enormous character from the first sniff - candied orange, raisins, dates and almonds, followed by Christmas spice and sherry on the palate, finishing sweet, with marzipan and dark fruit in the finish. One of the best whiskies I've ever drunk.
Amazing for the price
Glenallachie is an underrated distillery. This is yet another outstanding example of a dram with a lovely finish. Deep colour, and a sweet, complex and yet smooth finish, it provides excellent value compared to other more expensive Sherry cask finishes.
