A 2019 addition to the GlenAllachie core range, this 15 year old single malt was treated to a finishing period in sherry casks before bottling. The casks in question were a combination of puncheons and hogsheads that previously held Pedro Ximénez and oloroso sherry. Master distiller Billy Walker described this expression as having an "exceptional balance of the distillery’s spirit and the influence of the sherry casks used during maturation." We'd have to agree. This bottle was produced before the range underwent a redesign in 2024.
Peanut brittle, dates and a big scoop of chocolate ice cream.
Walnut, raisin, Christmas spices and fresh ginger.
Coffee, Turkish delight and just a hint of flaky sea salt.

Just been to a tasting at Glenallachie and this was the stand out by a long way, loved the 11yr Port Wood, but this 15yr was spectacular, packed full of flavour and the colour is beautifully dark, my palette just loved this dram, with a long finish and to me this definitely rivals Glendronach 15yr and Tamdhu 15yr and is cheaper too.
Just purchased my third bottle, excellent dram ! Just Cant Get Enough as the song goes !
Tried at a tasting event - I liked this one, calmer than the younger expressions with not as much of the spiciness which allowed the other flavours to come to the fore a little more. It has some similarities with Glendronach but is not the same and, I would argue, not as good. Still nice though, this is the one I would buy if I was opting for a bottle.
Im not sure why some of the reviews are negative I think it’s a great whisky! I’m enjoying my bottle!
value for money and quality, this really hit the spot with me
