A 2019 addition to the GlenAllachie core range, this 15 year old single malt was treated to a finishing period in sherry casks before bottling. The casks in question were a combination of puncheons and hogsheads that previously held Pedro Ximénez and oloroso sherry. Master distiller Billy Walker described this expression as having an "exceptional balance of the distillery’s spirit and the influence of the sherry casks used during maturation." We'd have to agree. This bottle was produced before the range underwent a redesign in 2024.
Peanut brittle, dates and a big scoop of chocolate ice cream.
Walnut, raisin, Christmas spices and fresh ginger.
Coffee, Turkish delight and just a hint of flaky sea salt.

Oh yes lovely. Complete scotch roulette on this one. Tried the 12 from my advent calendar and it was a strong boy. Looked at the range and saw the 15 and gave it a shot. Lovely, chocolate and hazelnut nose which continues to the palate. The finish lingers nicely, with just enough alcohol to let you know you’re having a drink. It’s very simple though so just the one tall hero glass
Very heavy sherry, those Pedro Ximénez casks really pack it with powerful flavour. Can be a bit too much at times but when I was in the mood it was great. Bottle did not last long!
Rich Full and Easy . Ticks the boxes. Another few % ABV woukd have helped but nevertheless a Fine Dram .
