Released as part of its aptly-named Wine Cask Series, this is a 12 year old single malt from Speyside's GlenAllachie Distillery, which was finished in casks that previously held Sauternes wine! Sauternes comes from France, and it's a dessert wine known for having a richly sweet flavour profile – and this just so happens to pair wonderfully with GlenAllachie's top-quality single malt.
Pineapple, Caramac bars, lemon zest, a pinch of cinnamon spiciness.
Fresh peach and pear, freshly-baked pastries with crunchy brown sugar atop them, another touch of waxy citrus peels.
Lingering grapefruit and honeycomb.
