Glen Scotia
Scotland
Single Malt
From Campbeltown's Glen Scotia comes Campbeltown Harbour, a little nod to the maritime nature of the whisky. The lightly peated single malt has been matured exclusively in first fill bourbon casks, so there's a good dose of toffee among the more savoury seaside notes.
Toffee penny, iodine and flamed heather, with hints of smoke and sea spray.
Apple crumble and more florals, with a herbaceous undertone followed by brine and fudge.
Dry smoke alongside a sweet, caramel-forward finish.
Toffee and salt (and some "manky" fruit). Poor stuff - not worth the £25 paid.
Buy when it's on offer. Really nice, not very peated as one reviewer has said but its not meant to be. One of my favourite NAS whisky more interesting than your average Speyside
Somewhat disappointing! Tastewise not sufficiently peated. Ian McF - 10/xi/2021
This is sold out on master of malt- I managed to get it in a supermarket. This is one of the best priced whiskies I’ve found. After 35 years of speyside, highland and lowland, and avoiding the cliche’d name, I realise I’ve had the blinkers on . This is phenomenal value. I know whisky is subjective, but this is exactly what I’ve been looking for and it’s a reasonable price. Ive has a couple of expressions now and I admit I’ve had better, but at five times the cost. New favourite distillery.
