Released in 2005, a 30 year old from Glen Ord, bottled at cask strength.
This is a fine libation, i suspect the tastes like dirt reviewer is a bourbon drinker, no I'm sure of it.
I'm venturing you didn't make your purchase from MasterOfMalt. Marked down a $100? Wow. Did the shop or site inadvertently store the bottle in direct sunlight for a few years?? It's important to make sure you're buying from a reputable site or that you know where and how the bottle's been stored before purchase.
The review that's entitled 'Tastes Like Dirt' (I do like a little toasted peat flavour myself) is so wide of the mark it prompts me to ask either: A) Do you normally drink Bourbon. B) Does anyone know if counterfeiters copy whiskies?
This bottle of Scotch has the sweetest smell and is the smoothest I have ever tasted. Thank you for distilling such a fine product.
it was marked down to 200US from 300US. For a 30 year bottle we thought we couldn't go wrong. What a mistake. Kind of like the Titanic. Harsh burn that lasted for hours. Dirty finish, meaning it tasted like dirt. If this was my introduction to scotch, I would have become a tee totaler.
