A great beginner's whisky right here from the Glen Grant Distillery, produced in tall pot stills. This 10 year old Speyside single malt, having spent a decade in bourbon casks, boasts oodles of light, malty notes. A top dram for warmer weather.
Medium. Vanilla, toffee apple. Herbal, hint of smoke.
Firm. Sweetness, fruity, vanilla. Gentle peat, malty.
Dry, supple peat, toffee.

Perfect with Pink Floyd. If we didnt know the origin, we would have guessed "Japanese".
Can you believe that this is often cheaper than the awful Glenlivet Founders Reserve? This is an outstanding whisky for the price. The quality is on par with Glenfiddich 12 although it is less fruity with more malt and caramel notes. You can't go wrong with this one.
I picked up 1 liter bottle of this on my way in at Sydney (Australia) airport duty free for Aus $65 to consume during my 3-week stay here. I found this whiskey to be very smooth and mellow, with medium complexity and a nice after-taste. Definitely worth buying. Most enjoyable !
Absolutely nothing special. Maybe those who never tasted higher priced malts this might be something new but.. come on! It is a pretty simple malt overall. Nothing special. Really!!!
It's like sipping melted vanilla custard. It's pretty magical. I'm drunk from this right now.
