Hunter Laing has gone and added yet another ace single malt Scotch whisky to its long-running Old Malt Cask independent bottling range – this time from the fab Glen Garioch Distillery in the Highland region. It was distilled back in October 2008, and left to mature in one single refill hogshead for 13 years, until February 2022. Following that gentle slumber, the whisky was bottled up at 50% ABV, producing just 352 bottles. Lots of fruity notes to this one, with balancing woody spices along the way.
Lemon and lime, with a hint of red apple too. Layers of caramel and peppercorn underneath.
Summer berry tart, earthy barley, vanilla pod, waxy peels.
Cinnamon and nutmeg last on the finish.
