A 9-year-old single malt Scotch from Ian MacLeod's Chieftain's range. This was distilled in November 2008 at the Glen Elgin distillery and aged for 9 years in two casks (#800400 & #800401) before it was bottled in April 2018. The total release was of 661 bottles.
Sticky toffee pudding, buttery malt and dried grass initially, with a touch of bruised pear and cinnamon underneath.
A flicker of bitter herbs brings depth to orchard fruit sweetness, creamy vanilla and an underlay of sharp oak spices.
A touch of honeycomb and grassy malt lingers.
