Well-aged single grain from the Girvan distillery! This was distilled in May 1979 and allowed to age for 36 years in a single refill hogshead until February 2016, when it was bottled as part of the excellent Sovereign single grain indie bottling series by Hunter Laing. 322 bottles were produced.
Burnt sugar, cocoa, a little hint of coffee bean.
Chewy toffee and oodles of vanilla. A little bit oily at points.
Lingering nuttiness and a touch of spiced oak.
