Stagg Jr. (65%) Bottling Note

Buffalo Trace's Stagg Jr. release share characteristics with their George T. Stagg expressions (released as part of the annual Antique Collection), in that they're intense, full-on bourbon whiskeys. However, they're just a bit easier to get your hands on (George T. Stagg bottles are notorious for selling out in seconds) and a little bit younger.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Powerful with burnt sugar and flamed orange peel. Toasted oak hides underneath.

Palate: New leather, clove, red chilli and dark chocolate. A few drops of water helps to bring fruity notes to the fore.

Finish: Very long and spicy. A touch of honey.

A big hitter

Really love this stuff. I was lucky enough to taste a full on George T and this is definitely still worthy of the Stagg name. Big, heavy and flavoursome for a fraction of the cost!
