A blended Japanese whisky made with malts and grains from distilleries on Japan's Honshu island. For those not keeping track, that's the main island of Japan, housing the lion's share of Japanese whisky distilleries. The label features some sort of giant snake/dragon with many people hands confronting a rightfully-confused chap with a sweet mask.
Greengages, sandalwood, a touch of earthy peat followed by slowly developing hints of buttered rye.
Rounded orchard fruit sweetness comes up against savoury grains and subtle nutmeg warmth.
Dusty oak and earthy vanilla pod.

It tastes like a cheap/fake. I had to google to see if it’s a legit brand.

First try was with one icecube melted, not rough and not smooth. Best part was after taste. Bubblegum sweetness.
The tasting note given here is accurate, and I quite like what I taste, but it's simple and there is an aggressive raw alcohol sensation that accompanies it. Definitely needs a drop of water. There are far better whiskies to drink at this price point, and the Nikka Whisky From the Barrel is a better introduction to the Japanese style.
A very rough whisky, trying to enjoy this neat is not a good use of your time. Better with a splash of water or some ice let's you get at the sweetness that builds into smoke but even still you'll be fighting against the paint stripper overtones.
