Four Roses founder Paul Jones Jr. became undoubtedly smitten by a beautiful woman who he proposed to. She said she would let him know her answer by attending an evening ball with a four rose corsage. We guess she said yes, since he renamed his entire brand to Four Roses! This Single Barrel 100 Proof bourbon is a rich, plummy and fruity whiskey, and it makes a fantastic Hot Toddy or Kentucky lemonade.
A balanced, rich, fruity nose. Notes of spices and chocolate. Toffee and vanilla.
Tart stone fruits, prunes, spices, morello cherries, cocoa and vanilla.
Oak, chocolate, butterscotch.

I have tried many different bourbons and I keep coming back to this. I love the way it tastes and a mixture between a strong taste and good proof. I have tried the Four Roses array (not the limited releases) and I cannot get enough. I wish they sold a small barrel of this!
hmmmmm- not great for the $$
This is 100 proof people - ie more ethanol than your everyday Jack or Jim.
Not sharp, unlike many other budget bourbons, yet full of taste - as 50% vol is supposed to be. Let a glass stay on the air for some time, then slight alcohilic and pickle notes will disappear, leaving you with a classical bourbon profile with a chocolate influence and medium-long finish. Unless I get a bad barrel (as some people complain below), this spirit remains in my personal top-10 whiskies list.
Best Single Barrel on the market ..
